In a city so dismal it's known only as "the Hole," a clan of Sorcerers has been plucking people off the streets to use as guinea pigs for atrocious "experiments" in the black arts. In a dark alley, Nikaido found Caiman, a man with a reptile head and a bad case of amnesia. To undo the spell, they're hunting and killing the Sorcerers in the Hole, hoping that eventually they'll kill the right one. But when En, the head Sorcerer, gets word of a lizard-man slaughtering his people, he sends a crew of "cleaners" into the Hole, igniting a war between two worlds.
While En seeks out a new partner with unique magic powers, his crew has a run-in with an underground organization that controls the distribution of "black powder," a magic-enhancing drug used by weaker Sorcerers. Meanwhile, Caiman and Nikaido spend New Year's in the haunted mansion of a mysterious doctor who specializes in the anatomy of Sorcerers. The doctor reveals to them the only known portal to the Sorcerers' dimension...

A diamond in the rough
I read the first book and I was honestly unimpressed. It took me about 3 months to read through one volume getting distracted with other things and it couldn't hold my attention for very long. I bought volume 2 almost on a whim.... And then I bought 3 and 4 and 5, I am on issue 8 right now and I can't wait to get the rest of them as soon as I can... not sure what it is about this book but i am hooked.

This series just feels like you’re completely immersed in the world. Love the characters and how the lines between good and evil are super unclear!

personally i rlly love dorohedoro so i wanted to get the manga - i ordered the first 3 volumes and there were no damages or odd smells whatsoever, the print is good and i havent found any flaws within the book itself. they arrived a few days after i ordered it which is great lol :D

So far this is a good series. The books are a bit expensive for the amount of content in these volumes, which isn't much compared to other manga, but, i'm all for supporting the artist. It can be tough out there for them.
